Sutton House Music Society
Bringing classical music of the highest quality to Hackney audiences
at affordable prices in a friendly relaxed setting.
Sutton House Music Society is a charity dedicated to bringing classical music to Homerton and Stoke Newington. Our concerts take place in the two oldest buildings in Hackney: Sutton House built in 1535, and St Mary’s Old Church built in 1563 by William Pattern. These provide wonderful and atmospheric settings for the concerts. Our musicians include first-class established international artists as well as rising young stars, playing a variety of classical music. We are all volunteers and operate with a modest budget. But we keep our ticket prices down to make sure our concerts are accessible to local people and provide free places for young people under 26 as well as people with disabilities and their carers.
If you would like to be involved in the concert series in some way, can offer practical help, or would like to advertise in the programme or be a sponsor, we should be pleased to hear from you. Please visit the Contact us page.
We reserve the right to change programmes or artists where necessary.
We regret that we cannot issue refunds.

Support the music society at no cost to yourself! We welcome any donations, large or small. But what about donating without paying a penny?
Just sign up to “Give As You Live” (www.giveasyoulive.com) and nominate us as your chosen charity. Your every on-line purchase from designated companies (Amazon, John Lewis, M&S, Boots, Expedia, Booking.com and many more) will generate between 1.5% and 6% of your spend (sometimes more) as a contribution to our coffers, so we can continue to offer performances even when we may not cover the costs from box office receipts alone.
When you buy tickets using our online box office, we will store your contact details and the details of which tickets you have bought in our database. If you choose to join our mailing list, we will send you an email with details about each concert and advance notifications of the Annual General Meeting. The only other occasion when we might use your personal details would be to inform you of last-minute changes to a concert for which you have bought tickets. We will never pass your details onto a third party. We use anonymized details of ticket sales for the purposes of analysis.
