Consone Quartet with Vlad Weverbergh (clarinet)

Our next concert will be on Friday 25th November, at 7.45pm at the Old Church, Stoke Newington. The Consone Quartet with Vlad Weverbergh (clarinet) will play a delightful programme including the wonderful Mozart Clarinet Quintet K. 581, a magnificent late work, which has never been played in our series before, together with Mozart’s Adagio and Fugue K. 546 and Schubert’s Quartet D. 94. This outstanding young quartet are being supported by our artists-in-residence the Fitzwilliam String Quartet.

Gustav and Alma: A Mahler portrait through songs and readings

An enlightening programme exploring the music and relationship of Gustav and Alma Mahler, including songs from the celebrated Rückert Lieder, Kindertotenlieder and folkloric Knaben Wunderhorn settings. Compiled and introduced by Finnegan Downie Dear, this programme of music and words will feature extracts from letters and diaries read by actress Penny Downie, with performances from mezzo-soprano Olivia Warburton and baritone Martin Häßler.
